First time travelling on your own?
Want to feel prepared to get the most of our your experience?
Going to a project in South America, Africa or Asia?
Want to meet other volunteers going abroad?
If you answered yes to any of the above then our Pre-departure Training is designed for you. We run 1 or 2 informal trainings every year and our trainers are returned volunteers who have already taken part in an international volunteering project.
During a weekend we usually cover topics like:
- International team working
- Cultural differences
- The roles and responsibilities of everyone involved on a project
- Travel and health practicalities
- Making the most of your experience
We also try and organise returned volunteers to come along and give presentation on their project so you can actually see what it might be like on your own one. The dates for 2012 are:
