postcard from a volunteer  The Riverside Warehouse I feel honoured to have been the leader of this project. The Warehouse does such valuable work that I can only feel happy to be even a small part of it. We were shown real kindness and friendship by the residents. I think that understanding between races and cultures has been increased and enjoyed by all. I have previously volunteered abroad, but I wanted do something in a community where I spoke the language and understood the society so I could really understand the impact of the volunteers. I learnt that I didn�t need to go as far as India or Mexico to learn new things or do important work. I developed a true sense of confidence and my ability to take on a challenge.
