This page also gives news from UNA Exchange volunteers overseas.

Over the next year, we will be posting monthly journals of three active UNA Exchange volunteers on the website.  They are now doing long term placements in Cameroon, Ethiopia and Senegal, with different organisations. They all got involved in international volunteering through UNA Exchange and show how far international volunteering can take you!

Click below to read their experiences of living and working in three very different African countries.

Andrew in Senegal

Andrew Davidson did a project three years ago in Togo and has helped out on many North South orientations and led projects in Wales.  He is now working for the British - Senegalese Institue in Dakar, Senegal.
Susie in Ethiopia

Susie Mullard travelled to Botswana through UNA Exchange in 2004, and led their project in Snowdonia in September this year. She is now based in Ethiopia, working for Save the Children Denmark in the capitol Addis Ababa, throughout the country, and Somaliland.
Becs in Cameroon

Rebecca Sinclair is a volunteer and project leader with UNA Exchange. She has also been involved in training teams preparing volunteers to do projects in the South and in global education work.  She started a year placement in Cameroon with VSO in September this year, working in a small village teaching English and coordinating HIV/AIDS activities.

Lucas from Zambia

Lucas is a volunteer with Youth Association Zambia, our partner organisation in Zambia.  He has been volunteering in Wales for 6 weeks over the summer of 2006, and is returning to Zambia to continue volunteering for YAZ.  Find out more about what he has been doing in Wales, and the volunteering activities he will be involved in through YAZ, and if you are inspired by the work that YAZ is doing in Zambia, click here to find out more about the international volunteer projects that they organise.
